НАРРАТИВНАЯ ПАМЯТЬ И ЗАБВЕНИЕ В РЕТРОСПЕКТИВНОЙ ПРОЗЕ XX ВЕКА

Abstract

The article examines the problem of narrative memory and forgetting in twentieth-century retrospective  prose, drawing on the works of K. Ishiguro and A. Nurpeisov. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to conceptualize memory not only as a thematic motif but also as a sructural mechanism of literary narration. The analysis reveals that the representation  of the past in the selected texts is not reproductive but narrative-constructive in nature.  It is established that  in K. Ishiguro's prose memory  is predominantly realized in an individual  form and is accompanied by selective  forgetting, which serves to organize lived experience. It is determined  that in A. Nurpeisov's prose retrospective narration is oriented toward collective historical experience, where memory functions as a means of preserving cultural and moral continuity.  The study concludes by indentifying a typological distinction between individual and collective models of narrative memory, which shape different modes of artistic interpretation of the past.
