This article shows that the development of students' professional competencies in the process of teaching chemistry is important in the modern education system. The application of methods that contribute to the improvement of critical thinking focused on professional competence through practical actions is being considered in universities. In order to develop students' critical thinking skills, the issues of developing a methodology that makes it possible to refine theoretical knowledge through practical tasks, laboratory work and project activities and substantiate it from a theoretical and experimental point of view are considered. The article provides specific recommendations on effective teaching methods, the introduction of innovative technologies and the development of professional skills of students. Professional competence-based learning is a methodological focus of pedagogical activity that contributes to the formation of students' professional competencies through ideas and various methods. Critical thinking begins with a deep mastery of chemical materials and is achieved by solving tasks and summarizing results.
As a result of the research, each student's thinking develops at some level, and by completing assignments, he learns to organize his work and freely express his self-esteem. The advantages of traditional teaching methods and modern technologies are comprehensively analyzed. The article reflects the main conceptual problems of the research, as well as the role of students' knowledge of chemistry teaching methods in the development of creative abilities and Soft skills.
