Programming in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: The Phenomenon of "Vibecoding" and the Advantage of Technological Literacy

This article analyzes the impact of modern artificial intelligence (AI) tools, such as Cursor IDE and Claude Code, on the software development field. The author introduces the concept of "vibecoding," a process where a programmer directs AI through high-level instructions, architectural design, and technology stack selection, rather than writing low-level code. A case study is presented based on the experience of developing a personal startup, where 140,000 lines of code were generated in 10 days solely using AI, demonstrating the potential to replace the work of a large team under traditional approaches. The key conclusion of the research is that the value of a programmer today is determined not by the speed of writing code, but by the ability to deeply understand technologies, select them correctly, and effectively manage AI agents.
